Job Description
Under the guidance of the lead man or supervisor, a Hot Header Operator operates the various hot heading machines in use by the
Company to perform complex operations such as forming, shaping, stamping, etc. on various sizes of head configurations etc. to required
close tolerances per blueprint or other specifications. Performs required quality workmanship through the use of precision measuring
instruments and special test equipment. Follows scheduled workflow assignments in order to meet customer demands and production
control requirements. Works towards meeting established standards and performance requirements.
Essential Functions
Operates machine that automatically performs multi-operations.
Performs first piece inspection of part with optical inspection equipment, or equivalent measurement equipment.
Adjust heaters to properly utilize coils, temperatures, and times.
Shall observe operations to detect machine malfunctions and to verify that machine setups conform to specifications.
Measure and inspect formed parts to ensure conformance to product specifications.
Read blueprints to determine specified tolerances and sequences of operations for machine setup.
Position and move work pieces through a series of dies that compress and shape stock to form die impressions.
Adjust settings to set pressures and depths of ram strokes and to synchronize machine operations.
Repair, maintain, and/or replace tooling when worn, broken or out of print.
Remove tooling from machines when production runs are finished.
Use overhead crane, forklift, and hand truck to bring and remove supplies as needed.
Use measuring instruments to ensure and record quality information.
Report any maintenance or part issues immediately as they occur
Work well with coworkers to find the best and fastest, safest solutions to our production line.
Follow the schedule as given by your lead, and make suggestions when applicable to improve production time.
Work with tooling to fix punch and die issues to maximize hot headers

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED with experience or vocational/technical certification required
Manufacturing experience is a plus
Must have at least 1 year experience with various machinery, such as hot headers, speed lathes, etc.
Knows the proper operation of machine (start, stop or jogging), visual check of parts for quality.
Ability to perform minor basic machine preventive maintenance at start of every shift.

Ability to properly load parts into machines one at a time and without double-hitting

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Work is performed during regular work hours. May stay after hours and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines as needed.
Standing for prolonged periods of time – up to 8 hours or more per day.
Work in varying degrees of temperature (heated or air conditioned). Ability to endure heat.
Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
Fast-paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.
Position requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to push, lift, andcarry.
Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing,
and seeing.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, working 1
st shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm, with minimum required 30-minute lunch break. Must be at your work
station by the start of your shift. Ability to work overtime is required when available. Ability to work on Saturdays may be
required per company scheduled needs
